Fr. Yaroslav was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1962.

​

He graduated Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville with a Bachelor of Theology in June 1987. Then he graduated Syracuse University (NY) in December 1988 with a Masters of Arts degree in Slavic Languages.

​

In January 1989 he married Larissa Gan, and they have three children. He was ordained a priest in June of the same year at the Holy Virgin Cathedral in San Francisco. Fr. Yaroslav served for over twenty years in California, then in London, UK, Massachusetts and New York.

​

In all parishes he was involved in the instruction of both adults and children, and for a number of years he was the vice-rector of St. Cyrill and Methodius High School (San Francisco).

​

In 2019 he moved to Australia and was assigned as Rector of the Russian Church in Geelong, Victoria.
